These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Medics Express mobile app and the website at medicsexpress.com, operated by MEDICS EXPRESS, registered at No. 18 Imgbi Road, Amarata, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria (“we,” “us,” “our”). By creating an account, downloading the app, or using this website, you agree to these Terms.
If anything here doesn’t make sense, contact us at contact@medicsexpress.com before you agree to it. We’d rather you understood what you’re agreeing to than just accept it blindly.
Who can use Medics Express
Medics Express is intended for licensed and in-training healthcare professionals, currently doctors, nurses, pharmacists, medical lab scientists, lab technicians, radiographers, dental technicians, physiotherapists, and dieticians; for people in other roles that support healthcare institutions, such as HMO billing agents and security personnel; and for healthcare institutions seeking to staff roles. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including your professional credentials. Providing false or misleading information, including fraudulent documents, is grounds for immediate account termination and may be reported to the relevant regulatory body.
Your account
You can create an account with your email address or by signing in with Google. You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure, including access to the Google account you sign in with, and for any activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Verification
For professions that have a regulatory council, verification on Medics Express reflects a real check against that council’s records and the documents you provide, at the time that check was performed. For roles that have no regulatory council, we do not check council records; we review the information and any documents you choose to provide. In every case, a “verified” status is not a guarantee that your credentials remain current indefinitely. You’re responsible for keeping your registration and any required credentials up to date, and for notifying us if something changes (an expired registration, a change in your regulatory status, etc.).
We reserve the right to re-verify, suspend, or revoke verified status if we have reason to believe the underlying information is no longer accurate.
What we do and don’t guarantee
We verify professional credentials and institutional legitimacy to the best of our process’s ability. We do not guarantee that you will be matched with a specific opportunity, within a specific timeframe, or at all. Being verified means the opportunities you see are real; it does not guarantee a particular outcome.
For institutions: we verify the professionals on our platform against their regulatory council records, where a council exists. We do not guarantee a specific candidate’s performance, conduct, or fit for a role beyond what verification itself covers.
Maintenance fee and payments
When you sign up, before you can continue, we ask you to accept our maintenance-fee terms inside the app. They apply to every healthcare professional and worker who registers. For doctors, the fee is a percentage of monthly pay; for everyone else, it is a flat one-time amount that depends on your profession. The agreement shows you the exact fee or rate that applies to you before you accept. The fee contributes to running and maintaining the app. It is not a placement charge: institutions pay us separately for placements. When you accept the agreement, we record your acceptance with the date and time, and the fee or rate we showed you. If anything in the maintenance-fee terms conflicts with these Terms on the subject of fees, the maintenance-fee terms apply.
If you are a doctor, you can add your bank details to your profile after you have been matched to an assignment, so that payment for that assignment can be arranged. You’re responsible for making sure those details are correct. We are not responsible for payment delays or misdirected payments caused by incorrect details you provide.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: provide false, fraudulent, or misleading information or documents; use the platform to circumvent verification, including attempting to arrange placements outside the platform specifically to avoid the verification process; harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users; attempt to access another user’s account or data without authorization; or use the platform for any purpose that violates applicable law.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Institution responsibilities
Institutions using Medics Express to staff roles agree to provide accurate information about the role, facility, and terms of engagement, and to treat healthcare professionals matched through the platform professionally and in accordance with applicable labor law.
Privacy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy at medicsexpress.com/privacy-policy. By using Medics Express, you acknowledge that you have read it.
Intellectual property
The Medics Express name, logo, and app are our property. You’re granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the app for its intended purpose, finding or filling healthcare staffing opportunities. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app or website content without our written permission.
Disclaimers
Medics Express is provided “as is.” While we take verification seriously, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every match will be successful. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost income, lost opportunities, or loss of reputation, arising from your use of Medics Express or from an assignment arranged through it. We are also not responsible for the conduct, performance, or decisions of the professionals and institutions who use the platform, beyond the verification we describe in these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.
Termination and account deletion
You may stop using Medics Express and ask us to delete your account at any time, from inside the app (Profile, then Delete account) or by following the steps on our account deletion page at medicsexpress.com/delete-account.
When you ask, your account is deactivated straight away. Thirty days later, your profile, professional information, documents and photos, bank details, messages, agreement records, and audit trail are permanently deleted, along with your login. If you change your mind during those 30 days, email contact@medicsexpress.com and we will reactivate your account.
There are two exceptions. First, if we have a documented concern about your account, such as a document we have reason to believe is falsified, a credential we could not verify, or a dispute with an institution, we may place a hold and keep the records needed to look into it until it is resolved. Second, if you have been placed with an institution, we keep the placement record and the details attached to it for the period set out in our Privacy Policy, and these requests are handled by our team by email rather than in the app. We also keep any records we are legally required to keep. Our Privacy Policy explains all of this in more detail.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, provide fraudulent information, or if your professional registration is revoked or found to be invalid.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “last updated” date and, where the change is significant, notify app users directly.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
